After a busy day in the office, London comes alive with opportunities to unwind. It’s one of the biggest perks of working in such a buzzing capital city – there is always something to do. Whether it’s catching up with colleagues, pursuing a hobby, or simply enjoying the city’s vibrant atmosphere, there’s something for everyone.

We spoke to some of our candidates working in office support jobs in London to find out how they make the most of their evenings.

Soaking Up Culture

Many of our candidates love the wealth of cultural experiences London has to offer. Tam says, “I often pop into a gallery after work - Tate Modern and the National Portrait Gallery are my favourites. It’s a great way to switch off from spreadsheets and policies and immerse myself in something creative. I’ve also joined a book group that meets in a pub local to my office.”

For Jason, theatre is the perfect way to escape the stresses of the day. “There’s always something brilliant on in the West End, but I also love smaller venues like The Old Vic. Last-minute tickets can be surprisingly affordable if you know where to look.”

Fitness and the Great Outdoors

Not everyone heads straight home after work - many take advantage of London’s green spaces and fitness options. Amara says, “I go for a run in Hyde Park a couple of times a week. It’s so peaceful, and you forget you’re in the middle of the city. I am always blown away by how privileged I am to run there.”

Meanwhile, Tom prefers group fitness. “I do an outdoor bootcamp on Clapham Common with colleagues. It’s a great way to de-stress and socialise at the same time. But often in winter I do a club-themed spin class with the same colleagues at the gym that our company pays for.”

Foodie Adventures

London’s food scene is a big draw for office support professionals. Gabriella, an administrator, tells us, “My friends and I have a tradition of trying a different restaurant every Friday. Last week we went for Sri Lankan food in Soho - it was incredible!”

Kofi loves street food markets. “Borough Market and Southbank Centre Market are my go-to spots. There’s nothing better than grabbing something delicious and sitting by the river to unwind.”

Live Music and Social Hangouts

For those who enjoy live music, London is a goldmine of talent. Danika shares, “I love heading to Camden or Shoreditch for live gigs. There are always amazing up-and-coming artists playing in small venues.”

For a more relaxed vibe, Adeel enjoys London’s late-night cafés. “A couple of us from work go to a 24-hour café in Soho once a week. We drink coffee, chat about everything and nothing, and just decompress. In the summer we love to head to one of the city’s fabulous roof-top bars.”
