The Daily Habits of the World’s Most Successful Figures

When you’re looking for a new job, it can be tempting to imagine yourself climbing to the very top of your industry, like a Richard Branson or a Steve Jobs figure. These incredibly successful individuals are renowned all over the world and have very high-powered roles that are the envy of many.

The likelihood of any of us becoming one of these internationally-respected figures is pretty slim – but it turns out we can enjoy a slice of their lifestyle by replicating their habits. Many of the world’s big stars of business have these habits in common, whether it’s exercise in the morning or meditation each night. As a leading London recruitment agency, at Love Success, we want to see you suceed. So take a look at some of the daily habits of the most successful figures in the world – how many can you incorporate into your own routine?

Getting up early

Do you think Elon Musk ever stays in bed until gone midday? Do you think Ariana Huffington snoozes her alarm until the very last minute? No – the world’s most successful people start their day early. Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, is said to start the day at 4am, sending emails first-thing before hitting the gym at 5am. This is a common theme among those who have high-powered jobs. It’s important to get a great head start on the day, and what better way to create some momentum than by ticking off some tasks before the sun even comes up?

If you struggle with getting up early, start setting your alarm back 15 minutes each week. A month later, you’ll have an extra hour of your day to play with!

Exercising

Daily exercise is key for many successful people. Not only does it keep the body in good physical condition, it can help with productivity as well as creativity. Anna Wintour famously packs in an hour of tennis each morning before she goes to her office at US Vogue. Howard Shultz, CEO of Starbucks, goes on daily bike rides with his wife. Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter, goes for a jog each day at 5.30am. Even former US President Obama has a daily workout routine, with a combination of strength and cardio work (and some basketball, of course!). Exercise can help those with high-powered, stressful jobs to shake off the day’s anxieties and enjoy some ‘me time’.

Silence or meditation

Meditation is also a very popular habit among the super-successful. From TV personalities like Oprah Winfrey (who famously dedicates 20 minutes every day just to sit in silence) to elite athletes like Kobe Bryant, there are a multitude of famous figures who practice the art of meditation to clear their minds and build their focus.

Goal-setting

Goals don’t always have to be long-term – in fact, many famous and successful figures make short-term goals that can be completed in a day. Each day, come up with a list of tasks that you want to complete before the end of the day, and start to tick them off one by one. Your smaller goals will contribute to your long-term goals and help make you a more successful and productive person.
