Oh how happy are we to be back in London, enjoying actually seeing our colleagues again?! Whether you’re jumping for joy that you’re actually back onsite doing your office support jobs, or are finally able to enjoy the reality of temping in London (not just via computer), rooftop restaurants are very much part of the capital’s lunchtime scene. There are so many beautiful ones in London that we struggled to narrow it down, but here are our favourites:
Perched above the city is Aviary, which is just fabulous for watching the sun set whilst feasting on fresh seafood or fare off the grill. It’s a stylish and contemporary rooftop restaurant, perfect for entertaining clients or simply enjoying a long-awaited long lunch with colleagues.
It’s inside, but up on the rooftop, which means you’ve got the best of both worlds! Overlooking the Thames and serving up Great British nosh, Darwin’s Brasserie is perfect for those in office support jobs to enjoy a vibrant lunch together.
An informal restaurant with a chilled out vibe, we just love a working lunch at London Bridge Rooftop. You can’t quite beat the backdrop, and if you’re temping in London you’ll realise why so many do it permanently! Their burgers are awesome (and that applies to the vegan options too).
With their absolutely stunning terrace (or inside if the weather’s not so favourable!) and their exquisite omakase sushi and sashimi, you definitely have to have lunch with your favourite colleagues at Aqua Kyoto in the next few months. It’s just off Regent Street and, hint-hint, don’t scrimp on the shrimp tempura—it’s incredible.
If you’ve not been before, you absolutely have to try Seabird, which is one of The Hoxton mini-chain. Found in Southwark, you will be spoiled with the beauty of the floral space, and then out comes the most incredible tasty seafood. If you’re an oyster fan, this place is definitely for you. If you’ve not learned to love oysters yet, then this is where your experience will be transformed.
For a bustling New York style luncheon, the Madison Rooftop is calling you. With fabulous grills and steaks, and classic American dishes, you’ll feel relaxed and at home up here in St Paul’s.
Madera has a beautifully covered terrace with a high roof, allowing fabulous views. Here, they serve fun and feisty Mexican plates of food which can of course be enjoyed alongside various tequila-based cocktails.
So, eat outdoors if you feel more Covid-safe, but in a way that’s truly “London-esque” by choosing a rooftop restaurant with your colleagues or clients. And heck, if lunchtime just isn’t long enough for all the catching up you’ve got to do, then what’s stopping you booking in for dinner after work?! It’s been a long time!
