The dreaded email has landed in your inbox: “Please organise drinks for…” Whether it’s a leaving do, birthday, or a large group of clients, those doing PA jobs in London can suddenly be filled with dread. London is well-known for its bars and pubs, but they aren’t always spacious! No problem, we’ve come to the rescue with our list of top places to go for drinks in London with a big group.
The Jones Family Project
If you’re looking for bar food as well as wonderful steaks, then head to The Jones Family Project in Shoreditch. This is a civilised place that just so happens to serve excellent cocktails. If you’re not in the mood for dining, then head upstairs where there are booths and chill-out sofas. Here, you can simply have a drink or two without thumping music.
Giant Robot
If your offices are out Canary Wharf way, then Giant Robot is an excellent choice. There are three different street food options on offer and enough space for group drinks. The views are not too shabby either. Whether you’re after a chilled-out atmosphere or something a little more sprightly, you’ll find something to please here.
St. JOHN Bar and Restaurant
The bar area at St. JOHN is surprisingly vast, and there are plenty of seats. What’s more, there’s an excellent range of beers on tap and wine lovers are spoiled for choice. If members of the group get peckish, it’s not hard to fall in love with the menu either.
Pergola Paddington – Pergola on the Roof
Pergola on the Roof in Paddington is perfectly set up for big groups with its long bench-style communal tables. It’s a popular place in the summer months, but it’s awesome in the winter months too. The roof comes over and things get cosy.
Flight Club
Flight Club in Shoreditch may focus on darts, but it’s also got a giant space fit for large parties. In fact, the darts will serve as a good icebreaker if you’ve got a slightly awkward bunch. The cocktails are fabulous and there’s food on hand when needed.
Martello Hall
Martello Hall in Hackney makes incredible pizza, but it’s also got a great huge space with a good pub-like vibe. There are a dozen delectable wines to choose from as well as an impressive gin collection and some tasty craft beers. The long tables downstairs are particularly good if there are a lot of you.
Bobby Fitzpatrick
A little way out, in West Hampstead, you’ll find Bobby Fitzpatrick. Known for its delicious pizza, low price cocktails, and proper DJs, this is a great spot for after-work drinks. The vibe is distinctly ‘cool’, but it’ll serve as a great melting pot for a big group of you.
We know those doing office support jobs in London just want to get out and let their hair down on Fridays. If that’s your reason or if you’re a PA making arrangements with big groups of clients, you won’t go wrong with any of these drinks venues.
