Dealing with rejection is an inevitable part of the job search process, and we get it can be tough and even soul-destroying at times. But it doesn't have to be disheartening. We really understand the emotional rollercoaster that candidates experience when faced with rejection. But we’ve also seen that it’s often a case that something better comes along next, especially if you can keep a positive and open mindset.

Recently, we spoke to some of our candidates who have overcome rejection and ultimately achieved success. We hope that their stories will give you the encouragement you need to keep going, even in the face of a job rejection.

Sarah – don’t let rejection define you

Sarah, a successful candidate who secured a coveted role as an administrative assistant for a household brand, reflects on her experience, "Rejection can be tough, but it's important not to let it define you. After facing several rejections, I took a step back to re-evaluate my approach. Love Success provided invaluable support, guiding me towards opportunities that were a better fit."

She emphasises the significance of resilience and self-belief, "I reminded myself of my skills and strengths, focusing on personal growth and continuous learning. Each rejection became a stepping stone towards finding the right office support job in London."

Malik – don’t take it personally

Malik, who successfully landed a position as an executive assistant, shares his perspective, "Rejection can feel personal, but it's crucial to remember that it's not a reflection of your worth. The job market is competitive and you’re not going to be everyone’s cup of tea."

He advises candidates to view rejection as an opportunity for growth, "Each rejection taught me something new, whether it was tweaking my CV or honing my interview skills. Love Success supported me throughout the process, providing constructive feedback and helping me stay motivated."

Rebecca – don’t feel discouraged

Rachel, a determined candidate who secured a challenging office support role in London after many applications and interviews, highlights the importance of perseverance, "Rejection can be discouraging, but I refused to give up. You’ve got to believe in your potential and get the right supporters in your camp. That way you’ll come up trumps eventually."

She adds, "Remember that every 'no' brings you closer to a 'yes.'  That’s something my Love Success consultant told me! Each rejection is an opportunity to learn, adapt, and grow. Love Success provided me with tailored job search strategies and helped me build my confidence."
