Part-Time Finance Assistant

Location: London, UK

Hours: 20 hours per week

Pay Rate: £16 - £20 per hour (dependent on experience)

Our client, a prominent provider of liquidity for exchange-traded products (ETPs), is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join their dynamic team on a part-time basis. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a fast-growing company that is revolutionising the trading and investment landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing financial statements and reports
  • Perform daily accounting tasks, such as journal entries, reconciliations, and managing accounts payable/receivable
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Maintain accurate and current financial records
  • Manage the sales ledger, handling invoicing and credit notes for wholesale clients
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.
  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support as required.

Person Specification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Previous accounting experience, ideally within the financial services sector.
  • Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with exchange-traded products (ETPs) or financial markets
  • CPA certification or working towards certification
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
