School Administrator & Receptionist

LOCATION: Tower Hamlets

SALARY: £14 per hour PAYE

HOURS: 40 hours per week - Short-term cover

CONTRACT: 4 - 6 weeks then reviewed

Enhanced DBS is essential.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide effective and efficient clerical support to the school. The post requires flexibility and the ability to work well as part of a team.

Love Success is currently supporting an excellent primary academy based in East London in an area with excellent transport links to hire a School Administrator & Receptionist. You must have an enhanced DBS to apply for this role or be willing to obtain one at registration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* General Administration: Offer support to the Heads of the Year and Senior Leaders to support the day-to-day running of the school

* Data entry: Entering and editing student data and producing relevant reports/analysis

* Filing: Student records and related correspondence

* First Aid: Provide first aid to students and staff. Formal training in First Aid at Work will be provided

* Ensure student medication is held and stored safely, and regularly reviewed to ensure it is on date

* Other tasks: Work experience and work-related learning coordination and arrangement of career adviser appointments

* Answering incoming calls and emails

* Enter/add student data, assign students to classes and produce class lists and timetables, recording late arrivals!

* Issue items as necessary e.g. locker keys, photographs

* Filing of correspondence and related documentation

* General word processing and administrative duties as directed by the line manager, deputy head and headteacher

Qualifications/Training - Essential requirement:

* SIMS (School Information Management System)

* Educated to at least A level or equivalent

* Proven record of administrative efficiency with attention to detail

 

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

* IT skills and ready to use a range of software once trained to do so

* The ability to use Microsoft Excel to create records and report data

* Able to plan and organise workflows to meet deadlines

* Have the ability to initiate and develop systems

* Understand the need for confidentiality and data security

* Previous experience in an educational or heavily regulated environment
