Payroll Assistant | £28,000 - £30,000 per annum

Our client, a well-known media company, is looking for a Payroll Assistant to input a high volume of new starters onto the payroll system. The role includes processing payments on the production payrolls and processing a high volume of P45s among other tasks. Previous knowledge of dealing with HMRC, auto-enrolment and PAYE payrolls is an advantage.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Setting up of all new starters onto the computer payroll system IRIS (EARNIE IQ)
- Process all P45/Starter Checklist forms
- Sending payslips, P60s and P45s for the company
- Answering Payroll and AE queries
- Changing Tax and Student Loans accurately
- Variable pay input
- Liaising with staff on all PAYE and SCHD matters
- Complete the payroll run monthly for the production Staff - 4 Payrolls
- Pensions Auto-enrolment experience an advantage
- Creating Journals and uploading them to PMI account system
- General Admin
- Ad-hoc duties as directed by the Payroll Manager
- Administering the auto-enrolment function
- Be proactive in search of work
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Must have excellent Microsoft skills, in particular, Excel with spreadsheets and formulas
- Able to use Microsoft Outlook
- Good telephone manner and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able to work under pressure with accuracy and focus
- Good attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
- IRIS (EARNIE IQ) payroll knowledge would be an advantage
- Able to work both independently and within a team
- Proactive
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
