Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a prestigious Law firm for a competent administrator to join a busy, friendly HR team based in the West End. Previous experience is not wanted, instead we are looking for candidates who have a genuine interest in starting a career in HR, who have some administration experience.

The function of this role is to provide top-level HR administration and the ideal candidate will be confident and articulate, have excellent communication skills, and be able to deal extremely well under pressure. Attention to detail is absolutely imperative for this role, as is confidentiality, discretion, character, and the ability to effectively manage an extremely busy and varied workload, with the personality and enthusiasm for HR .

Responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative assistance and diary management to HR Advisors
  • Maintenance of HR database
  • Manage holidays and absence
  • Running reports and helping collate monthly management information
  • Annual update of employees' information
  • Produce all new starter documentation including contracts of employment, handbooks, and carrying out compliance checks upon joining
  • Obtaining required references for each new employee
  • Organising office, homeworker, maternity, and any other risk assessments
  • Training administration
  • Obtaining proof of eligibility to work in the UK and annual passport/VISA checks
  • Managing the booking of temporary staff including:
  • Monitoring all 3 and 6 month probationary periods
  • Administering of employee benefits alongside HR & Payroll Advisor
  • Assistance with the salary review and bonus process/paperwork
  • Assisting in the recruitment and selection process
  • Ad hoc HR-related requests

Candidate Requirements:

  • 1 - 2 years' experience in a robust administration role
  • All-rounder with a strong desire to increase and expand HR knowledge and experience
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and organise others
  • Diplomatic and confidential dealing with data and issues of a sensitive and private nature
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and be flexible to the needs of others
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach and strong attention to detail
