Our client, a dynamic insurance business with a European-wide presence, is urgently recruiting for 2 Assistant Accountant roles. They will help with study support and help you work towards your qualification.

Joining the UK finance team and reporting to the Finance manager you will:
Assist with preparation of monthly management reports in line with accounting standards.
Help with production of key account reconciliations and controls, while evaluating and managing risk at all times.
Assist in the group recharge process. This will include charging and settling intercompany recharges, reconciling relevant documentation and communicating with the local teams to confirm and investigate variances from budget.
Help to maintain general ledger and other group financial reporting systems, including supporting on-boarding of new businesses and data migrations.
You will support, as required on an ad hoc basis, integrations of new business acquisitions with existing financial systems and processes.
Coordinate with senior stakeholders on the settlement of large ad hoc payments for new business, reinsurance collateral settlement, investment allocations etc.
You shall update the expense payment schedules on a monthly basis, review the post close transactions and liaising with management.
Process other non-purchase ledger expense postings, for items such as credit card expenses.
Calculate and post the quarterly expense allocations to the ledger.
Compile, and investigate as required, the monthly variance analysis compared to budget / prior period.

The ideal candidate
Part-qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACCA or CIMA) with at least 2-3 years relevant experience, ideally in the insurance sector.
Any experience of Migration and onboarding European clients is a bonus.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with finance representatives across the group.
Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Have awareness of control environments within financial systems and ability to address weakness.
Knowledge of Dynamics 365 Business Central system preferable but not essential.
